"Free horse" through a friend of a friend.
10 arab mare, green broke; border surrender, the BO does not want to send the mare to auction and is offering her free to "get her out of here before they have to start haying."

My horse is green broke and I am re-green, so I do not need two greenies. I would like to send her for 60 days of some really good training.

Can't really call this a training log as I'm no trainer.

Thought I'd begin keeping a record of our rides however, so I can see if we're moving forward, regressing, or just going around in circles.

Long Term Goals:

Fitting them all up for regular riding and heat tolerance.
Keeping riding fun not only for me, but for the horses. I want them to always associate leaving the stable with positive experiences.

I am just getting so excited I get to start riding my Mac in the next few weeks!!!!!!!!!!!! He turns the big 2 on Thanksgiving. He is not the first horse that I have ever broke to ride but it feels like FOREVER since I broke my Fancy (she is now 5). Joe is visiting with me for a couple of months to get a more solid saddle horse for his owner. He is 10 years old and at best is green broke. His owner is a middle aged woman who would like to enjoy him on the trails, but he is too green for her. I've had him home for a week now and have 2 rides on him.

Well, I have recently been entrusted to train my boss's filly. She is four, halterbroke and that's about it. She had professional training that apparently screwed her up. BNT I guess was living there and doing clinics and was using this filly as an example. She tied her to her horse (like to pony a horse), got off, and smacked her horse in the ass... I just want to say first of all I'm not the best at detail when it comes to explaining everything, so if I left something out, let me know and I will explain..

I have been working with my yearling colt, Kahuna, he is a black Solid Bred Paint, and I got him in April.
When I got him I long lined him and worked on halter, setting up, troting in hand, backing, standing for long periods of time, and did some quartering too so he learns not to move when I show him..
