			<title><![CDATA[ Another weekend with kids and horses ]]></title>

			<description><![CDATA[ I had 2-3 extra kids this weekend, which means up to 5 kids, ages 5-9. The weather was cool and I took them to my horses. It was absolutely wonderful, I feel
so grateful to have horses that are gentle and calm.

The extra kids are from out of town and have never been around horses. They took turns riding Purdy bareback (I led her) and the others would play in the creek

			<description><![CDATA[ So I sent my 5-y.o. boy, who is not quite horse safe (he&#39;s okay with our horses, but it wouldn&#39;t be safe to take him to any sort of event around other
horses because I can&#39;t handle him, our horse(s), my 6 y.o. daughter all  at once) to visit his older brother and his family. And I took my 6 y.o. daughter
to a local obstacle course/playday last Saturday. It&#39;s the first time I&#39;ve had her horseback on our Purdy away from where we keep the mare, the first

			<description><![CDATA[ Ok guys..my four year old monster (half arabian, 16hh and growing) has an issue I&#39;ve worked on and cant seem to fix. When he was a weanling he rolled into
a wire fence and got his legs caught. Ever since when he gets any kind of slight touch (tail bag, tail, string, rope, etc) besides what he is expecting he
either kicks, stomps or straigh up bucks. It&#39;s become a real problem since he is showing now. Id really like a horse who is safe in all aspects that I dont

			<description><![CDATA[ This is my working student. She&#39;s only 17, so I won&#39;t give her name. She&#39;s been riding with me for about 4 1/2 months, about twice a week. She
started out riding one of my clients horses, but then that didn&#39;t work out financially and she became my working student. She helps me muck and whatever,
in exchange for riding time/lessons. She&#39;s got a great attitude and is a very hard worker.

			<description><![CDATA[ I put Jaymes up on Buddy today for about 10 minutes, and they both had a good time! Buddy was happy because there was no saddle, just Jaymes&#39; TINY little
bareback pad. They were quite content to amble along at an extremely slowwwww walk, and we worked on Jaymes&#39; speech exercises while he rode. He had to say
&quot;GO!&quot; to get me to walk buddy, and &quot;STOP!&quot; when he wanted to stop. by the end of the ride he was consistantly using both words correctly.

sure myself! I had a pony at 8 but didnt start riding by myself until I was 12 and then I learned the hard way on  flighty arabian in a saddle with no stirrups
so needless to say I took a few spills.  Also what did you or your kids start in? English or western?  Also why do you think one is preferable?  All opinions
