I don't have an issue with the trainers method. Please don't take it that way! She's a great friend of mine that has gone way out of her way to help me out. I just wanted other opinions/options on what could be done. 2 heads are better than 1, ya know. He actually has a very sweet personality and loves to be loved on. He just doesn't love to work.

Well, if she is such a good friend and has gone out of her way to help you I would stop questioning her methods. I agree 100% with what she is telling you to do. The horse is being lazy, disrespectful, and down right dangerous. When he shows you his ass, pepper it! When he is good reward him, it's that simple. There is no reason to make something simple complicated. : )
