If someone lets their horse look that shitty, I would not believe a single word they said about her. Her age, her training, soundness, whatever. She may be quiet now, most underweight horses are. But when you fatten her up she could be a little hottie. You just dont know.

And I do agree with HP. For 3k you can easily find a very experienced kid safe low jumper, especially in the small horse size range. You will have to look more into the 10-15 year range, but who cares? She wont have this horse her entire career anyway, thats a given. A first horse should be more about safety and learning than longevity and potential. Putting a green kid on a horse that is not experienced in what she wants to do is stupid, no matter how quiet they are. It doesnt need to be some push button show horse, but a horse with lots of miles in what she wants to do and the word "green" should not come up. I wouldnt look at anything under 8 years old.
