If you put your small kids on any horse, why not helmet!?!? The entire story is questionable, however, if nothing else *helmet* the child! A 4 yr old can barely stay on a bike with training wheels, muchless a bucking horse!
No kidding. My daughter would never be able to ride out a buck. Actually, I question what would happen if Lilidh tripped at a trot or faster (FTR, my daughter is beginning to ride on her own at the walk and sometimes I lead Lils to get her to trot for a little ways for Liz). If she tripped or spooked and jumped sideways, I would probably have to reach back and grab Liz to keep her from falling off. After having a kid of my own, I can't imagine anyone in their right mind would put a young child on any excitable horse, much less a stallion in a crazy environment like that.

How terribly sad for you that the extensive advice you've been given wasn't what you wanted and wasn't sufficient for you to figure what to do.
