I really like the Shagya horses too.

Praised, discrimination against the Part-Bred Arabian horses by some breeders and enthusiasts goes back many years (to the 1950's to my recollection). Apparently there was a big uprising against the IAHA when they adopted the Part-Bred and Anglo registries. I suppose the breeders/enthusiasts felt their breed would become 'unpure' or something.

I was told a story by an infamous 'horseman' of his personal protest. He bred his lovely imported Arabian mare to a donkey and registered the moal Part-Bred Arabian, he then campaigned the resulting moal at the PNE the following year. Heinous, but pretty funny so many years later.
