Ah, you are a good human. I have used Bob Hubbard from Ca to Fl. I know there are other long haul transporters too. After shipping across the country twice, I would recommend springing for the box stall, starting the horse on electrolytes prior to the trip and during and having the horse on omeprazole (Ulcer guard) during and after the trip. One horse I lost to colic shortly after her arriving in Fl - she wouldn't drink the water, but maybe, just maybe if I had put a bit of flavor in the water before, during and after the trip, she would have drunk and would have made it. The second horse made the trip (1/2 way across the country from Ca to Co) just fine, but then ended up with an ulcer. We caught it and treated her, and she's fine. Those were the take home lessons I learned. I realize you didn't ask...
