While I don't get the buyer's behavior either, it's not up to me to decide how he spends his cash. I have a friend who paid $30K for a gelding that was bought exclusively to be a non-competitive pleasure horse. Literally, to w-t-c around the owner's ring/arena/few acres, and nothing more.   I don't get that, either.
