It's only viewed as "a bit crazy" by those who don't believe the value of a particular horse can actually be higher than your average backyard horses and crossbred rescues. It makes perfect sense to those whose stricter selection criteria are met by certain horses.

Some people are very fortunate to have the ability to purchase exactly what they want; the rest end up settling for less and criticizing those that didn't have to go that route.

What about the many Thoroughbred stallions that are shuttled back and between the US and the southern hemisphere for stud duty each year, even though there are plenty of high quality Thoroughbred stallions already available in the destination country? To those who aren't aware of the differences between these Thoroughbred stallions, that would appear to be "crazy" as well.

*raises hand* I paid more than Idgie's price for my horse, yet it still doesnt make perfect sense to me. He is no rescue.

Those stallion shuttled all over the place are NO COMPARISON to this mare. They are worth close to 7 figures, not low 5.
