The truth often offends when it's not sugarcoated. Are you are speaking for everyone else here? If you are, you did quite well by them. You pulled out the correct attack card that says, "You are being condescending". Therefore, my response is to you, but will apply to all. I am speaking only for myself. I have never had a problem with you, I have stuck up for you on MANY MANY instances against your biggest critics. And I have stuck up for your horse on numerous occasions as well as I quite like him. You comment here was condescending. There are a lot 'lesser quality' horses on this board, but there are a lot of nice ones too. It's not really hard to understand why anyone, regardless of whether or not they have quality horses might find it strange to ship a horse across the world with the sole intent of trail-riding it. Where did people get this crazy idea that he only intends to trail ride said horse? From the OP! Please see the following:He has no plans to show her. All he wants to do is trail ride her and let her hang out in the pasture in her spare time. So, if he actually does intend to campaign her, we'd have to be psychic to know that. And that's coming from a girl whose horse was sired by the top point earning stallion in NA in her breed (who recently sold for $40 000). That doesn't automatically make your horse worth $40,000. He may be and he may not be. 50% or more of the horses from ANY given bloodline aren't of a breeding quality level, so just because a horse is by a big time sire doesn't make that foal instant high quality.Where did I ever say my horse was worth $40 000? He not, and likely never will be. I also didn't say he was breeding quality. My point was simply that he is not "your average backyard horses and crossbred rescue". There is also a very good chance that my horse won't leave my back yard and will serve no purpose other than my own personal pleasure mount for the rest of his days. And I don't even have boatloads of money! But this "No one recongnises quality and all your horses are sub par" attitude is special. I don't know if that's how you're intending to come across and if not I apologize. My comments were aimed at the prevailing attitude of the majority of people on this forum, mostly made up of very young people who own crossbred grades and rescues, board them at a boarding barn where they take riding lessons, and are generally NOT knowledgeable about breeding quality horses. That is a fact. They simply do not have enough life experience to know that, yet they feel they are qualified to judge all others who are more knowledgeable than they are. Again, I bring you this quote: He has no plans to show her. All he wants to do is trail ride her and let her hang out in the pasture in her spare time. If the OP said "He's bringing her to AUS to add to his breeding program I doubt people would be scratching their heads. At no point in this entire thread did I see one person question the quality of this animal. No one would be "Judging others more knowledgeable than them" if his intent was to improve his breeding stock with this mare. It's not the fact that this man bought a quality horse for a lot of money, and is planning on spending even more money to transport it to AUS. that has people raising an eyebrow. It's the fact that he is doing so with the sole intent of trail riding said horse. Great for the horse, great for the seller, and heck, great for the buyer that he can purchase his dream horse without a second thought! Yet you imply you have a nearly $40,000 horse for the very same purpose? You don't know that his "sole intent" is using her as a trail mount. Perhaps he's smart enough to realize that he might want to do more than just trail ride with his purchase in the future; the quality will already be there when there is a higher goal. Instead of calling him "crazy", how about giving him the benefit of the doubt? That would be pretty boring, though. I have never at any point implied that my horse is worth anywhere near $40 000. And again, people were simply going on what was stated in the OP.Again, I really don't see anything wrong with it, and if I had boatloads of money, I'd probably import and Andalusian from Spain just to ride around my backyard bareback in a custom made princess dress. I would also expect that it wouldn't make sense to a lot of people, and I wouldn't really care And if you don't see anything wrong with it, then my comments didn't apply to you, did they? Why did you feel qualified to speak for everyone else here by criticizing my comments? Perhaps because you know there are a few here who would agree with you?Oh for crying out loud. I criticized one comment because I find it to be extremely condescending. I don't really care one way or the other whether or not anyone else agrees with me. Your comment was condescending and uncalled for and I called you on it. I have stated over and over in this thread that I think it's great that HnH sold her horse, and that if I had boatloads of money I would probably spend it in a way that didn't make sense to most people. I really have NO problem with where the horse was sold, and think people have the right to spend their money however they want. Whether your comment was directed at me or not, I found it to be a condescending cheap shot (and an untrue one at that, there are people who find this weird who have quality horses) and I called you on it. Like I said, I have never had a problem with you before, and have stuck up for you many times but that comment rubbed me the wrong way, and I mentioned it.
