Lol, can anyone in this little spat actually articulate what you're fighting about?

Everybody is agreed that HnH's mare is a nice horse.
Everybody is agreed that it was a good sale.
Many people have been bemused by the idea that someone would ship a horse to Australia just to trail ride; those same people have also said that it's the buyer's money and he can do what he wants with it.

So why all the bitch slapping?
I'm sorry, but when I sell something and the reaction is that my buyer must have more money than brains, I would feel offended too. It makes the deal look like I took advantages of him/her. And with the history of this board, it wouldn't be unrealistic to think that those comment were made with that intention. Maybe they weren't, I think some of the people that made those remarks are usually nice (but I am sometimes a bit naive, based on my own experiences). But I don't blame HNH for being a bit offended and FTF only stood up for an internet buddy. Maybe their observations and reactions were a bit influenced by earlier experiences on this board, but that goes even much more for the others.

Two points:

First, as many people have stated earlier, the comments about the buyer having more money than brains were not about purchasing the mare, they were about exporting her to Australia. No one insinuated that HNH took advantage of this man.

Second, I understand the urge to stick up for your friends. I felt a similar urge a few days ago when one of my favorite people on this board made a slight misstatement and someone I don't care for jumped all over her for it. I wanted to jump in and tell everyone what she really meant. However, I took a breath, and realized that not only would I damage my own credibility by jumping into a stupid argument, I would damage my friend's credibility as well. I left it alone, and it's been forgotten. Similarly, there was no reason for FtF to come in, guns blazing, to defend HNH from some perceived slight. It didn't do either of them any favors.
