Do you ever share your extensive knowledge here FTFOTB? I haven't seen it in recent months (perhaps years) but you do drop by every once in a while to say look what a great resource you nasty, snarky, rotten people lost. How dare we not honor your expertise, beg to have you back, and put up with comments like these without taking any insult. Damn it your an expert - how dare we ask you not to treat us like morons!

I hope you find those knowledgeable, logical, extremely educated and literate, generous, friendly people. You will never find them here because you are already clearly convinced they do not exist here. I find those people here amidst the cranks that are bound to show up anywhere on the internet. I have seen incredible acts of kindness and generosity and people putting in a great deal of time and effort to help educate others. I have met a few people from here and am glad that I did. Good luck in your quest for better people. I assume since you are here you haven't found them yet.
Actually, Lav, I have shared what I have learned many times here, only to have the threads turn into bashfests. The range of subjects included breeding, genetics, color genetics, pedigrees, conformation, and whatever subject I have knowledge to share on. I've tried many times to contribute on many subjects here over a span of a couple of years. The problem is some people have other agendas. They simply won't let a civil discussion continue without turning it into a personal attack thread. You might not have seen any of those threads if they were subjects you weren't interested in. I'm done trying to contribute here, like many others. I have learned that the more you know, or the more successful you become, the number of people who want to try to tear you down increases. You end up spending most of your time defending yourself, which is what they want you to do. It's entertainment for them and makes them feel superior.

I actually have a good life outside of the discussion forums, contrary to what some believe. I have also been buying and selling on eBay for 13 years now, with a 100% positive satisfaction rating (approaching 5,000), most of which are repeat customers. You can't accomplish that dealing with the public (strangers) for many years and be someone who screws people over. You don't survive doing business there if you are not honest and credible. What is it people here are fond of saying? They aren't assholes IRL?

Yes, I found a very good discussion board with all the positive ingredients you could ask for. And I participate there on a regular basis without much discourse. And I know there are a few good people here "admidst the cranks" as you put it. But you can't keep the troublemakers out of a good thread here because there is little or no moderation. Isn't gonna happen.
