PD,

The nosepiece arrived last Tuesday, June 1 and worked great! I didn't end up using it on my horse, but a teenager used it on her new horse. He didn't know much about giving to bit pressure and was used to going where he wanted to with his previous owners. She had a lot of steering and stopping problems. Her horse is working great now after just a few rides in the nosepiece. It's like a new horse and the smile on her face is priceless!

Oh wow, you used my email

The pressure from the nose piece reinforces the correct response to bit/rein cues to stop or turn left/right.

I used baling twine in place of the connectors that came with it to connect the nosepiece to the bit. Her bit rings were too wide, the connector would not go around them. We attached it, she hopped on and stopped her horse WHEN SHE ASKED for the first time since she got him. He had always leaked forward or sideways prior to using the nosepiece. I told her to use VERY light hands. She rode that night for 5 mins in the nosepiece. The next day she rode in a halter and leadrope with NO problems. She rode one more time in the nose piece then took it off. He's a bombproof, solid, VERY NICE first horse. Her enjoyment of him grew 100 fold after using the nosepiece.

AAH - I bought it to use on Gus on the trails. He was super forward and a handful on trails. Since reducing his sugar, he's been quiet and does fine on a loose rein on the trails. I'm considering putting it on the QH my daughter rides.
