Okay, this horse is an absolute SUPERSTAR! Today I pulled his shoes, clipped his head a bit (he's never been clipped AFAIK), sprayed him all over, took him into an arena he's never seen before, put a new bit in his mouth, threw a gal he's never met on his back, and he never missed a beat. All of this in the middle of a violent thunderstorm, btw. Superstar, I tell you!

Will he make a "husband horse"? Depends on the level of husband, the lightness of his hands, and what he wants to do with him. Offhand, I think he gets on better with women than men, and he's at his finest working in a rather narrow scope right now. I think his true talent lies either in low level dressage or rail classes. He doesn't "do" western, at least not at this point.

He IS a little unbalanced and has a hard time maintaining a canter for any length of time. He wasn't broke until he was 6 (yay!), so I think that's a large part of it. Any suggestions on how to get a good canter out of a horse who much prefers to trot?

I've got a little video, but need to get the rider's permission to post first.
