The vat said she it probably caused discomfort, thats why she tried to use one more than the other to protect herself from pain. Now that I look for it I see what she means, she does favor use of her left back leg more than the right. She does not limp, but she does use her right leg harder. Does that make sense?

She is very quiet, with a very good personality. I have ridden her a few times, she is at least green broke. I think she knows more than she lets on. The reason I said if she was well broke I would keep her even if lame, is I could still probably do pony rides on her. Even most semi crippled up old arthritic horses can handlea little kid on them at a slow walk for an hour a weekend. Then I could justify putting a lot more moeny into her, as she would have paid for herself.

I am not rich. The only way I have been able to keep bringing in the neglected horses is my trail rides, and now the pony parties. The horses bring in thier own income. I have no problem euthing a horse, and loosing money. I don't mind getting one in I know may not make it. I just would rather not keep sinking money into a horse I know will be a loss, when I could take that money and fix up another, or two or three.

I need to talk to my hubby. If I don't euth her I may just get her teeth floated, as that is cheap, and turn her out to pasture for the rest of the summer, and this fall go from there. Then she can put on more wieght, and build up some reserves. Start riding her lightly, and see if she lames up or not. With more turn out he said she could possibly build up muscle. Then I will know wether she will be ok for riding or not, and if not, I can euther her befor I have to feed all winter again.
