wow you guys have been in some shitty barns seriously ! not being snarky lol lol either that or I am in a gold mine rainbow firing barn !!! I know the feed quality is fantastic, I know that the barn staff has daily at 10 am staff meetings where each week they also go over signs of injury , colic and what is required with horse in rehab. I know the feed schedule never varies more then 5 - 10 mins max for each scheduled feed. they go over issues from the day before and any concerns they have with each horse. I know all pens are picked clean ever single day in the afternoon and well the stalls are quite literally impecable

I also work there part time so I know it is not one off things I am seeing that they are consitant in their care and their feed
I feel extremely lucky right now
The last place I boarded Constantine had the following:

Clean stalls.
Turnout 3x/week (so I had to make sure I was there the other 4 days to turn him out, he was just a baby).
A decent, but very dusty indoor.
Good enough food,
A knowledgeable, albeit old school BO.

This was after MONTHS of searching for something that I could afford and would offer decent care within an hour and a half of home.  Board was 350/month (300 if you didn't want any turnout) and if you wanted anything other than the local feed stores oats you had to buy it yourself/pay extra. (again, Constantine was a baby, so I had him on a foal food).  Came to about 380/month.  Anything else in that price range was either full, or WAY sketch.  Or a 3 hour drive, lol.
