I sold a real nice mare to some folks that had to board her. Her personality changed completely (she was sold as kid safe then began rearing, having tieing issues, wouldnt load in a trailer, etc.) and I ended up buying her back. Within three weeks she was back to her old self. I did a little investigating and found out the board owner carried a club with him when he fed the horses in the mornings. He used it on the horses that walked toward him when he had an armload of feed for them. Several horses in the facility are head shy. When I told the buyer what I found out they said they wondered why the horses there all seemed to be that way. Out here boarding isnt the norm. There are two facilities in our town for folks to board, one is overly expensive and one is not. Guess which one the mare was kept at.

Expect more from your horse, and you will get it

When I ride my horse I get to forget I have a brain injury

I was the daughter who wouldn't lift a finger in the house but cycled madly off in the pouring rain to spend all morning mucking out a stable.
