I love having my horses at home so that I know exactley what they are doing and eating- it fits right in with my control freakisish nature, lol. I love walking outside and getting to see them them all of the time and would worry too much if they were away from home but I can definitely see the benefits in boarding. I always wonder if I would "enjoy" them more if I wasn't spending so much time on the care and were able to just go out to a barna to simply groom and ride. I would love to have access to an all weather ring, trail buddies and the freedom to be able to just up and go on a trip without worrying about a farm sitter. Right now having them home works for us and I am grateful. At our next duty station, depending on my husband's duty, I may board because I can see myself getting pretty worn out keeping up with a deployment schedule, homeschooling three kids, caring for all of the dogs, goats and horses as well as keeping my home in nice condition without an extra set of hands to help me around the farm.

When your horse follows you without being asked, when he rubs his head on yours,
and when you look at him and feel a tingle down your spine...you know you are loved.
