Tinker, I think you & your daughter both would be happier with boarding in the future. Many of the people I know (not all, but many) who went from boarding to keeping at home noticed a severe drop off in the amount they rode. And some experienced a drop off in owning a horse at all. For you I think the social aspect of boarding could be really helpful in getting you "out & about" mixing with people. Keeping horses at home doesn't help you in forming bonds and getting to know people in the area that can help in case of emergency, and doesn't expose you to aspects of horse keeping/riding/training/lessons/showing that you'll also get to experience boarding. Obviously I don't know you personally so I could be wrong - I'm just basing this on what you've written on the forum. It's good to see you're still here since you get a chance to talk and socialize, but on the other hand I think you could find a couple of thousand more forums that would be more helpful and better resources for the experiences you're dealing with now. Not that this isn't a touchy feely cushy place full of goodness and light

I am in awe of your awesome ability and am in fact beginning a religion to worship you and your greatness. We shall have doctrines of unneeded bitchiness and your worshipers shall wear funny hats. It will be glorious.
