Newmare, she looks a LOT like those smoky blacks! Now, my color genetics are rusty, but hypothetically, if I  bred her to a bay, could I get a buckskin? *is never too old to dream up "what-if" foals, just too old to ever do it*

Now, I googled that UC Davis does color tests; if I did do it, what would I look for and where should I go?
If she is smoky black, if you bred her to a bay, yes you could get a buckskin, along with multiple other possibilities.

If you did color tests, you would want Red Factor, Agouti, and Cream. UC Davis does color testing as does http://www.animalgenetics.us/Equine.asp The link I posted gets results faster than UC Davis. You can decide if you want the brown test after you know if it's even possible.

Ariel: This women, who broke your heart. Do you still lover her?
Hook: Yes
Ariel: Then swear to me on her name.
Hook: I swear on Emma Swan
