Hmm, I've had the "pleasure" of watching a big-moving Arabian get broke-down into doing Western Pleasure. It was awful. He did it, placed about mid-level at Regionals and went to Canadian Nationals...it was still awful. It was like his knees were hitting an invisible table-top.

Your mare travels a lot like that gelding. Strung out, nose in the air, lots of extension and the "flick". He was a multiple Champion, Legion winner in the Jumpers. She looks most like a sporthorse to me.

The successful Western Pleasure Arabians I have seen are sort of "freaks" from other programs. They sort of come out of the mare with a nice, slow-moving jog and an easy lope. The rest need their heads cranked down and MONTHS of cavaletti work to shorten their strides. If you want to show her in Open shows at Western Pleasure, give 'er...but nothing in the sales video says to me that she would be successful at Arabian Western Pleasure, not at the breed show level anyway. Not here, and I think California is a much more competitive region than Reg. 17.
