They are a pain in the ass to keep....

If you are going to do it get CAPTIVE bred not wild caught they are easier to deal with and more likely to eat frozen mysidacea.

Cichlids need 55 gal plus size tank. They get large very quickly. You have to stock the tank according to what comes from the same lake or contient. They tear a part tanks and have the habit of rearranging tanks. They also get very territorial and aggressive. Espeically if they pair up.
