How about dumb ways to pronounce common names:

Lindsay (my name), pronounced linds•ay (not linds•ee)

*murders parents* And no, I do not want to be called Lindsey to make things easier. If folks can pronounce the difference between Marie and Mary, they can pronounce my name *glares at MIL*

I don't correct people when they say it wrong though. I think it is unprofessional. Also if someone says "What?" to my name three times I give in and say "Lindsey," since that is better than Wednesday, Linda or whatever else they decide my name might be.

If you can't pronounce my name, you can call me Linds. That is perfectly acceptable. If you want to say my real name all you have to do is say Linds and then add A. It really isn't that hard.
