Based on what you wrote, DG, I could say that as a firefighter, if I got really badly burned in a fire, I should just keep on cleaning the hose up with all the other guys afterwords, because it's firefighting and therefore, danger and injury are a given. Yes, I have been hurt on scenes. Yes, I have reported every single one of them. Thankfully, I have not needed to go to the hospital yet. I have never been severely injured, thank God. The worst was a knee injury, that I reported and ignored, and guess what? Now I have 2 bum knees to make up for it. I only hurt one, but the other one got over-stressed from making up for the pain by walking weird, and eventually it snapped my ACL in my good knee. It took months of therapy for me to even be able to walk again. And my knees hurt. All the time. Because I was dumb and didn't go get a minor injury medically cared for. But you will never, ever, hear me say that because I am a firefighter, I should expect to get injured because the job is inherently dangerous, and should just learn to work through it.
