^this: the steel in boots is not all created equally. A really GOOD pair of steel-toed boots, heck I think you could have a Clydesdale repeatedly stomp on you and be ok. But there are plenty of "steel-toed boots" that are not anything like that. I'd stay away because I am cheap and wouldn't buy an expensive pair and as others have said, they may be clunky. I've only had one incident of a horse stomping on me, and of course that horse had shoes on. I was wearing Ariats and almost puked it hurt so much, but nothing broken. Lucky!
