the plan is always to keep them for life- but it doesnt always happen. we sold louie at world, due to knowing we wouldnt be able to give him the time he needs to be started as a late 2y/o /3y/o for the HUS. we have one other rider, who is a flawless western pleasure prospect, and is a full sister to one of the best appaloosa mares ever to grace the breed, so we are looking into offering her out to a few barns, to see if we may be able to sell her before national/world next year, to give her a fighting chance to be just as good as her sister.

we plan to stick to the halter- that is something that I highly enjoy, and want to become more involved with. I will maintain and manage the 3 halter horses we have right now- as we do have time to handle and fit the Halter horses.

and yes, the majority of the halter appaloosas, no matter what their QH precentage is, are still very different compared to the QH halter horses. I could show you a million pictures, and you wouldn't be able to tell, but untill you see them in person and are familiar with both breeds, then do you see the difference.

now thou, you will start to see more similarities, as the AQHA halter is going away from the heavily muscled, overpowering look to a more refined look, that has more emphasis on superb conformation...........which will be easy for the appaloosa to follow, due to them already wanting to be more of a leaner halter horse. Luckily, our stud colt comes from an AQHA breeder, who realized this.... making him one of probably 3 appaloosas who have this modern look (who are currently in the show pen)
