Yeah, sorry... to some little walk-trotter in their first 4-H show, the ribbon is treasured beyond belief (My college kid still has his first 4-H ribbon hanging on his bulletin board. Dern thing sure is showing its age, too)
Not talking about young kids an you dang well know it. 4-H at its best is just a stepping stone.
Its certainly not a selling point for most.

But I agree with off of ya, the ad should have focused on the horse. Some people like to 'target' the 4-H'ers though when selling a horse. How many ads do you see listed like on Craigslist or Dreamhorse that say for 4-H or 'great 4-H prospect'?

you see tons of adds like that because the horse isnt marketable for anything in particuler an 4-H doesnt focus on anything in particuler so its a natural fit =)
Now im not against 4-H , but im not gonna glorify it either. Its a place for kids to have fun an get an idea of what showing is like.

Yes TRD, you see it a LOT. I actually had a thread a LONG time ago about "why do people advertise about '4-H prospect' when thats not what the 4-H, at least in MY area, is all about"?

I had this whole paragraph typed out about what 4-H means to some of these kids who don't live on the farm/ranch and have the very nice horses...but I erased it. But yeah, TRD... the 4-H kids make do with what they can find, even if it is a horse that just doesn't fit somewhere else. Lucky horse
