4H is cool for kids who live in the country. It provides a lot of support and companionship, but I do so hate those 4H parents who LIVE THROUGH THEIR CHILD'S 4H achievements. (Emphasis intended.) I just met one the other night. He bought his daughter a $20K horse, but said horse has issues. He says to me "She would have been winning this year if we hadn't sold her other horse, but I'm hopeful she'll do well at fair." Bleh.

Yeah we see MUCH MORE 'sportsmanship' out of the 4-H kids than we do their parents. My son is now an Asst Coach for youth baseball. You see the parents there do the same thing, live through the child. LOL And I hear 'soccer moms' are THE worst image

ps: we didn't live in the country. It's a city of 200,000. The kid pretty much collected cans & did odd jobs to earn the 4-H Horse Show entry fees.
