Good luck, I hope the feet are better today.
A side note. I ended up paying 160.00 to the guy that screwed my horses feet over, and 150.00 to the guy that came out a week later, and will be paying 150.00 every 4 weeks, until their feet are better. In our case, it is they have noting left for length to roll and take flares and edges off, so he is going to check on them in 4 weeks, and then in 4 weeks again, and just take the edges off to keep them from chipping. As soon as we try to take the sharp edges off with a rasp on the edge of the hoof, they bleed, that is how short they are.
Your's doesn't sound
that
short though. If you have paid the farrier, there is little chance of getting your money back, but if they are billing you, hold off paying it until you talk to the guy that was supposed to be coming. It is his responsibility to make sure the people he sends are competent. Get a second opinion for sure, maybe your trainers opinion will hold some merit for the farrier, it is hard to say though. Pictures of the hooves and video of how she moved after he (Dad) trimmed would be a good idea, then you at least have that to show him. Make sure to call and voice your concerns, I am sure that even if he is busy, he could take time out to come look at your horse, that is just good business practice. If he is on vacation that is different.
