Rather than argue the choke issue, I am going to point out: an old horse gets more from his food if it is soaked, it is easier for them to digest, same thing goes for one that is in rough shape. My horses love winter feeding time lol. Warm mash yumm!!. I live in Alberta, colder than hell in the winter, I soak feed in the house and take it out at feeding time. Makes for some strange looks when company comes to visit, but oh well.
