I had a farrier trim my guy WAY short I was furious he was lame for weeks. Anyway he is turned out 24/7 and was stocked up from just standing at his feed bucket because it hurt him to move. Had to duct tape his feet to form some kind of barrier. Anyway I was told to put liniment on his legs to relieve the swelling, there wasnt any heat just swelling. I mixed the liniment with water and just squeezed a sponge soaked with the mixture at his knee and let it run down his legs and then rubbed his legs vigorously, until the legs felt cool to the touch then I hand walked him in the grass to get the blood flowing and the swelling had gone an lour later, and never came back. He was still off cause his feet hurt but he never stocked up again.

EDIT: Hes probably favoring that leg and isnt using it like he should and thus it's swollen.

Look back on our struggle for freedom,
Trace our present day's strength to its source;
And you'll find that man's pathway to glory
Is strewn with the bones of a horse.
