I started noticing he was feeling more reluctant to move out on Wednesday, but that's when I was still thinking it was the bugs, they've just been so bad this week and fly spray isn't doing the trick. Thursday he got trimmed so I had more of a reason to think it was more than the bugs, so I really don't think he's just stalking up.

I'd love to be close enough to provide the care for him, but I'm not so I have to rely on the BM or my trainer to take care of the leg for today, I might be able to get a ride out there tomorrow and do the wrapping myself and cold hose it.

I don't have a "horse first aid kit" because I really don't live close enough that I'd be any help in an emergency and my trainer has it all anyways. She'll supply the poultice for the first few treatments, but if it's going to be on going then she expects the owners to buy their own. I just wasn't sure if it was worth driving the half hour to a tack store to buy the poultice if it's not really what he needs.

There is something about jumping a horse over a fence, something that makes you feel good. Perhaps it's the risk, the gamble. In any event it's a thing I need.
