And I agree about borrowing a horse! And if you use your own you'll probably want a stronger bit in there.

Ask what the country's like before you go, it's good to know if you're jumping onto a road or there's a hidden ditch or wire in the hedge.. And what sort of size you'll be jumping. Usually it's around 4', but you'll get smaller stone walls and ditches and things, and probably some big hedges! Well, that's hunting in the UK, not sure what the land's like in the US?

- Sit up over ditches
- Doesn't matter how you look, ride defensively but also keep a lot of leg on into fences
- Be respectful, especially to staff, NEVER cut anyone up coming into a jump
- Don't get in among the hounds
- Put a green ribbon in your horse's tail, means green horse or rider and you'll be given your space
