If someone had only heard a list of our horse problems a few years ago, it would have been similar. We truly went through horse owner's hell. We lost 4 oldies, lost 2 to colic (cancer & twisted gut), one put down due to paralysis of the throat, had 5 with pigeon fever (all survived), had an eye poked out, a broken leg, and had one run through a fence ($3000+ vet bill). Sometimes bad stuff happens.

We also worried that someone would turn us in for neglect just because we had so many old ones. They weren't starved at all, but they didn't look like bouncy 3-year-olds, either.
