My father (who I have no contact with anymore) is an alcoholic. Driving drunk never seemed to bother him. I remember when my mom found him sleeping in the car one morning. He was so wasted he couldn't even make it into the house. Thankfully, by some stroke of luck, he never killed anyone.

I don't drink. Ever. I am always willing to play the DD without complaint and have driven home a deal of people. I'm a real "killjoy" on the road. I do the posted speed limit (or five over if it's a back road, always keen on my surroundings!), pull over if I get a phone call, etc, etc.

We lost a family friend in 2001. Drunk driver hit her motorcycle. She died on the side of the road waiting for help. And one must remember, alcohol doesn't just impair your driving. Our first neighbor (bless her heart) was frequently abused by her husband when he got drunk. She got away, ended the marriage, but in the end he came back and took her life. It'll actually be 11yrs since her passing come this Christmas. What a thing to wake up to on a holiday...

"I believe that when we leave a place a part of it goes with us and part of us remains. Go anywhere in these halls, when it is quiet and just listen. After a while you will hear the echoes of all of our conversations, every thought and word we've exchanged. Long after we are gone, our voices will linger in these walls for as long as this place remains. But I will admit that the part of me that is going will very much miss the part of you that is staying."

Ianto:
Heh, he thought we were a couple, he said "you two". The way he said it, "you two".
Jack:
Well we are, does it matter?
