Oh, that apple sauce is a good trick!
Not sure if a 14 year old who is good at finding ways to not do what he doesn't want to will work, but maybe I'll try it. image If I ever work with a young horse, I will do that for sure!

Wracking my brain here trying to figure out how to worm him without needing 4 people and risking injury. I was thinking, maybe if I get him used to having his face touched, and then perhaps introduce a gentle blindfold if he's amenable to it, so he can't see what's coming. image And maybe if I held a sprig of crushed peppermint near his nose, he would smell that instead of the wormer coming at him. Heh. Not sure. image He really did try to kick the hell out of one of the people helping the other day, and that worries me.

I have 2 Arabians who won't let you worm them PERIOD!!! The gal that had them for 16 years before I rescued them used to put the wormer paste in their grain buckets. I still have to do that. They eat it right up. The 3rd Arab lets me put it in her mouth now. I can't give the 2 shots unless I have a group of helpers. Sheesh. The things we do to keep our horses healthy. I think I will try the applesauce trick on the 2 that are hard to worm.
