Hell, I just popped a new blade on the horse clipper and slid on a guard, and I've done both of my dogs for the summer. I just hit the blades with the lube stuff a couple of times during the process. It wasn't a big deal and it didn't cost me anything but the $23 for the new blades. Which I can still use on the horses, as we just clip the bridle path and take off their whiskers.
