Ha, I knew I was opening a can of worms with this one!!!!!

That little guy is just so damn adorable. I seriously keep going back to his picture...and opening it up and getting that reflexive 'awwwwwwww' but it would just break my heart if something was physically not right with him. Of course I would maintain him as well as I could but I'd euth him if he just couldn't be comfortable. At the same time, Michigan? Even I have my moments of sanity. My husband would strangle me. Then he'd bring me back and strangle me again and you definitely have the mini experience to look at him and say 'there's something not right here!' where as I look at him and go TINY PONY!

I have room for something small and as long as it's not big enough for an adult to ride I won't feel bad about it not getting ridden because goodness knows I don't get on my other guys enough as it is. Gender doesn't really matter. Age doesn't either, though I'd -prefer- that it was at least halter broken and would let the farrier do its feet. Beyond that it can be as wild as a march hare. Maintenance wise....obviously the less it needs the better, but I can do the daily stuff if it has needs. I'd just prefer not to pour on the supplements and the bandages and all of that. Ideally it will have a forever and ever home with me but being military I can't guarantee anything so a few good years left would be nice just because I don't want to get a poor thirty something pony and then end up six years from now having to try to find it a home.

I have this little ambition to want to try and teach something to pull a cart. But since I don't have a pony, don't have a cart, don't have a harness, don't have the time, and don't really know how to go about that - it will probably never happen so the soundness and size of the pony isn't really an issue. Freebie ponies are definitely going to be given priority. Cuteness factor is of course a major plus. I might let mom pick one out if you know of a couple.

It doesn't have to be registered, breedable, any of that stuff so it definitely doesn't have to be to standard. At most it might end up being led around in a parade or with kids being led on its back if it's a large enough pony (and I mean toddler kids) and again dependent upon size of the pony. It will probably be a yard ornament. With a fun name.

I knew I was going to get myself into trouble posting the opossum pony.......but yeah. If it's sound, it'll get to go play. If it's not, it'll still be loved and taken care of.
