Well, not all horses need the same schedule. I've had arabians that are easier than others. I have owned and been around some that don't ever get it and were in constant training and re-schooling. So it just depends upon the horse. I know from experience that an arabian takes a lot longer to totally finish than most breeds. The top trainers will tell you it takes at least a year and a half to totally finish a horse correctly, regardless of what breed it is. A correctly finished horse is very different from a horse that just WTC around the arena.

If you want to show full training is the only way to go. Horses that have bad coats and not really well conditioned stand out like a sore thumb - you can always tell the home schooled with very little time into them vs. the one's that are being worked regularly. Full training to me is a minimum of 5 days a week days a week being worked and that's what I expect. I have also gone down to partial training, which is 2-3 days a week (riding). Some horses get really fried on 6 days a week and it ends up having an opposite effect. My current horse went down to partial because we ask a lot out of her and she gets too sore & grouchy on 5 + days/week.
