I saw a Julie Goodnight clinic at Horse Affair in Boise a few years ago. I was initially impressed with her. She also participated in the "trainer challenge" and, while she came in 2nd, she seemed to handle the young horse gently and accomplished all that was required in the ridiculously short time frame they are given. I saw her video on collection. It seemed sane. Then, for signing up for some drawing at her booth I ended up on her email newsletter list. It features a question and answer section which has some disappointingly goofy advice and observations on occasion. The "white face=slow learner" doesn't surprise me. Like most of the bigger name western trainers, you have to sift through their info a bit to find the occasional gem.
