Add another one for less laws.
Also better enforcement of the laws we already have... especially those pertaining to animal abuse.
As far as an entirely new law (or laws?), I'd really like to see more stringent qualifications and better limits imposed on individuals holding or running for public office. Elections rarely seem to be about who is the best person for the job... with all the shit-slinging commercials etc. is seems more like who's the
least bad
. And if you have enough money to throw at your campaign (and / or the right groups backing you) you can almost guarantee a win. I would like to see an end to career politicians who have ABSOLUTELY ZERO CONCEPT of business in the private sector and the "real world". Or some mayor / commissioner / whatever's son who has never held anything but a state or fed job, appointed this or appointed that and now he wants to be governor or some damn thing and make decisions regarding budgets and taxes that strongly affect the private sector... how on earth can such an individual have ANY concept of what's good or bad for businesses when they have NO life experience to draw on?
Whooops, sorry. *steps off soapbox*
Oh, and also add me to the "people should work for welfare" camp. And take drug tests to get welfare too... if I need one to get a damn job, you need one to take my tax dollars. And yeah, I know this one will NEVER fly, but mandatory birth control for people on welfare as well. No, I am not Big Brother... I am not infringing on your rights... you have the option of NOT taking state money if you do not want to be on birth control. I simply feel that if you cannot support yourself and your existing family you SHOULD NOT be bringing more people into your situation.
