How many shows do you show a year? Including schooling shows, about 2-4 depending. Last year I did 2 or 3.
How far apart do you break? I like to keep a minimum of two weeks between shows, definitely longer if possible.
How long are they? Most of them are one day, at least I only need to be there for one day.
How many classes do you show a day? Two tests.
Are they spread out? Back to back? What usually ends up happening, and works for me, is about an hour and a half or so between classes. That way I can walk the horse out and loosen the girth and give a drink, but I don't have to completely untack. That means that I don't have to do a big warm up all over again either, so it's beneficial for both of us. I can work with having classes right after each other or having them really spread out, but the middle ground is the best IMO.
If its a one day show or a two day show does it make a difference in what you'll have them do? I try not to work them as hard in general if I need to be there more than a day, if it's two days I might do two tests the first day and one the second.
