When I was in a kid and we rocked the 4h and local shows we would do 6-12 classes depending on the day. Generally seven. one or two halter, two English, two or three jumping, two western. The local fair was a big deal and we would compete in everything (including gaming with my leased big western pleasure gelding, yeah it was funny) If your horse is fairly fit going in a walk-trot-canter flat class isn't a big deal, they are generally short. We would do 8-10 shows a year which were mainly one day shows except for the fair which was 3.
