Rockabilly good point. Where I kept my horse we had a farrier school come out and either watch the teacher work or sometimes work under his supervision, so I'm not sure if they still do that.
I see the value in it for sure - just like med students practice on dead humans first.  But still.  Not something that's pleasant to think about.  Maybe that is why I find these shoes so repulsive.
