Of course they're cold-blooded. I mean duh, everyone knows that. Fish, turtles and frogs are cold-blooded, too, do you go around shooting them because they're cold-blooded and have to eat? Snakes kill to eat, and possibly when they feel threatened. Keeping them in captivity can mess with their instincts, so you need to know what you're doing with them. Do you really kill all the snakes you see? Even the garter snakes and black snakes that keep the rodent population down? That's a very ignorant, backwards way of thinking. Kill all predators, because they're "bad", and let the "good" animals, the herbivores, live. That used to be a pretty common mindset, before people realized the need for balance in nature - there are no "bad" species or "good" species - they all have their place.

I do agree that the really dangerous ones - venomous snakes and gators and such, need to be kept away from our immediate living areas. I have no problem with someone shooting rattlers in their yard or barn, but I don't think you run into many gators or rattlers in PA.

Don't argue with an idiot; people watching may not be able to tell the difference
