I think it's a much nicer name for that height range than the one that I think they use over there in hunters (I think?) - 'hony' or something? Blech! Galloways are a lovely stepping stone for older kids/teenagers before they go onto a horse. Pony dressage is taking off here but while it's called 'pony' as I said earlier the max height is nearly 14.3 and most ponies internationally specifically bred to be sports ponies (ie German and Dutch Riding Ponies) are right up to height (if not over). So I guess we should really be calling it 'Galloway' dressage. haha
