Our horses sometimes get them in the summer when the ground gets dry and hard. We don't have stalls so as far as "not having enough bedding" it's not applicable to mine.

I think I'd compare hock sores to a cut/abrasion on the knuckle of your finger. Yeah, it can feel tight as it's healing, especially when you bend your finger all the way, but it's not an intolerable pain. Sometimes I don't think you can really prevent "injuries" like that from happening in some cases, short of standing outside with them 24/7 and not allowing them to ever lie down.

If you're wrong, admit it.  If you're right...shut up!
