On a road grade you can determine ground level fairly accurately. On a pasture you have to assess the levelness of their front & back feet to the ground & the ground they are actually standing on. And in this pic, it looks like the ground is very level under him & in front of him under where his head is. Notice the uncut grass under his head on the ground is very level to where he's standing. It looks more like the grass was cut in an arch going away from his front feet to his back feet. And behind his back feet looks to be a little rise in the ground. But not where he's standing.
