Crazy color breeder/ interesting. so if i just had chestnutss I would be a color breeder?
I just went through my emails. Sunedee200 is [name redacted]. Back in Nov of 2009 she contacted me as she wanted to buy some $100 curly foals. She was excited that I would be able to take and halter train them (they where feral), work with them and look after them till transport could be done. Once she found she had to pay the same amount as everyone else she did not want to buy them from a person who was dispursing their curly herd.
[name redacted] went on and on about how wonderful these horses where. How exited and happy she was that they would be going to a breeder who has been breeding performance horses for close to 3 decades. We use our horses on a working cattle ranch but also do other disaplines. Every horse before it is bred must be proven to some degree under saddle and/or harness. [name redacted] herself said more people should select like we do becuase then she would not have to rescue any of the many Curly horses out there that have little to no training at all.
What I see in the curly horse is a chance for those with allergies to customize the "type" of horse they want. Many people lean to QH, some to TB, Warmblood, Arabian etc. Some people do Dressage, work cattle, do eventing..why is it so wrong to produce horses that you want? If I am just a crazy color breeder what are all the other curly breeders?
I have done nothing wrong to [name redacted] nor any of you.
I do however call a spade a spade a spade and this turns off some (some) people who do not have a lot of experience with horses. But I will not lie and say this or that horse is wonderful nor will I say this or that horse is yuck just to say it.
We do take pride in what what we produce and this pride is reflected in the numberous Provincal and National championships our stock has produced in close to every type of disapline.
I think what upsets [name redacted] is that we will not say anything so you or anyone would breed or buy from us. We will tell you the truth about the temperaments, attributes and faults of our horses.
Now if that is a bad thing? I sure would hate to see what you all are producing.
Your comments reflex onto not only every horse breeder who takes breeding seriously but also every horse owner, expecialy woman, and even more so reflects onto the Curly community.
I also do not hide who I am. I sign my posts. I do not know who any of you are, well except [name redacted] but that is only becuase she wanted me to board some horses for her. (that email was from Nov. 15th to the 20th of 2009. As it was siad these horses where going to auction I offered to board at feed costs plus a tiny bit extra for my time to buy halters and halter break these horses who have never been worked. In the end, to save them from going to auction Ibought 5 bred mares and 3 yearling, as well as 2 others for 2 other people. These people are very pleased with the care and dayly photos they recieved.
So yes [name redacted] I am a bad person for not doing it free. For putting money out for horses I did not want and taking payments on horses that cost only $100-200!
Very kind regards,
sereena : )
