Oh, this is great! Sub farrier came out. He is from Peru, doesn't speak a lot of English, but isn't hard to understand. Quiet, observant, I like that. His friend was pretty talkative. I kept taking the lead ropes away from him because he kept standing at each horse's head with one hand on the halter and the lead rope all coiled tight in the other. Horses were all fidgety. Lol.
I was fidgety just watching. So I'd take the lead rope and he would walk off. Then I'd drop it and just scratch an ear or neck.
Fidgeting stopped. Maybe he is used to broncs, but ours aren't broncs. He did 7 horses in 3 hrs. Shod two.
Anyway, I knew he used to work at a track.
Turns out the track was Belmont park.
I walked off, come back and he and BO are talking and she asks me if I've ever heard of Barbaro.
Hm. I've only drawn his portrait about six times!
Farrier is a friend of Edgar Prado. Wants me to do a portrait of his daughter at some point.
I like him.
It all just hit me as surreal. Such a smLl world we live in.
